Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain English, what personal information SquadPlay collects, what we do with it and the choices you have.

Who we are

SquadPlay (squadplay.app) is operated by Robicon Digital LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us at hello@robicon.co.uk.

What we collect

Account details you give us: your name, email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider — we never see them.
Profile details you choose to add: an optional photo, playing position and self-rated skill level.
Squad activity created while you use the service: which squads you belong to and your role in them, RSVPs and attendance, team allocations, goals and assists, man-of-the-match votes and ratings, and payment status for each match (an amount and whether it is marked pending, paid or waived).
Payment details entered by an organiser (for example a Revolut handle or bank account name) are stored so they can be shown to that squad's members. SquadPlay never takes, holds or processes payments; money moves directly between players and the organiser.
Technical data needed to run the service: your login session, and standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) kept by our hosting providers for security and reliability.

What we do not do

  • •
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The only browser storage we use holds your login session so you stay signed in.
  • •
We do not sell or rent personal information.
  • •
We do not process card or bank payments.
  • •
We do not send marketing email. Emails you receive are transactional: account confirmation and password reset.
  • Why we use it (lawful basis)

To provide the service you signed up for — organising matches with your squad (performance of a contract).
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
To meet legal obligations, if any apply.

    Who can see your information

Members of a squad can see each other's names, photos, RSVPs, teams, goals, ratings and payment status for that squad's matches — that is what the product is for. Organisers can also see the payment details they entered. Nobody outside your squads can see your activity.
Squad invite links let anyone who has the link join that squad. Organisers should share them only with the people they want in the squad.

    Providers we rely on

  • •
Supabase — database, authentication and file storage, hosted in the AWS London region (eu-west-2).
  • •
Vercel — hosting of the web app and its global content delivery network.
  • •
Expo (EAS) — build and hosting tooling for the app.
  • These providers process data on our behalf under their own data-processing terms. Some may route traffic through servers outside the UK; where that happens they rely on standard contractual safeguards.

    How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your login, name, email and photo are removed. Match records (attendance, scores, payment status) are kept for the squad's history but are anonymised — they can no longer be linked to you.
Squads you own with no other members are deleted with your account. If you own a squad that still has members, hand over ownership first so the squad keeps working.

    Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you can ask to access, correct, export or erase your personal information, or object to or restrict how we use it.
Most of this you can do yourself: edit your profile in the app, or use "Delete account" on your Profile screen. For anything else, email hello@robicon.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

    Children

SquadPlay is intended for adults organising and playing casual sport. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

    Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
